About Simon Giblin
I caught my first carp 36 years ago, and been carp fishing ever since. During this time I have captured 17 British 40’s from venues all over the UK.
I have been fortunate to capture many of my target fish during this time, to name a few, the Yateley North Lakes Bazil, Yateley Car Park Lakes Baby Orange, St. Ives’ Lady, Stanstead Abbots Big Common, and a Walthamstow record.
I don’t get to fish as much as I used to as family life now comes first, but I’m still as keen and driven as I was catching minnows in my local river Lea as a kid. The excitement is still the same with every bite, be it a screaming run on a buzzer or watching a float slide away amongst a patch of bubbles.
Carp fishing is my addiction. I love watching carp. I have spent literally 1000s of hours hanging out of trees and peering through bushes studying individual carp over the years trying to work them out as to where and how they will feed to eventually catch them. I am OCD when it comes to my rigs and presentation, and believe this makes a massive difference on getting “the bite”.
