About Shane Bundock
I’ve been fishing since I was about 5yrs old mostly catching roach, tench, perch and bream. By the age of 10 I’d caught my first carp, the battle that 8-10lb common gave me on my little match set-up opened up a new fishing world to me, and that was it, I just wanted to catch more and bigger carp from that day on – The carp obsession had me.
I’d bike around 10miles every morning in the school holidays with my brother to a little carp lake trying to catch the ‘biggun’ (about 17lb) which I did in the end.
This progressed to wanting to angle for larger fish, fishing day ticket waters like Linear, Walthamstow and Farlow’s, where I was fortunate enough to bank a few of my targets.
From there I started to fish in the Lea Valley and soon got the big pit buzz. I now enjoy the hunting side of carp fishing, sitting up trees for hours (sometimes falling out!), watching carp coming in from a certain way and going out another way, and forming a plan of attack with bait. There’s nothing like walking around a big pit at night listening for carp and getting on them for the morning and the day ahead.
