Markus Brettschneider

I’m from the western part of Germany and I’m 45 years old. I started fishing in the 1990s, at the age of 10, with my father. In 1996, I began to focus intensively on carp fishing, which means I have been passionate about it for over 29 years (and still am).

Most of the time, I fish on lakes close to where I live. However, 2 to 4 times a year, I travel to France to fish several pay lakes, including the impressive Lac du Der. This lake is so magical that it fills my dreams. It’s very challenging, but when you manage to catch a fish, the feeling is incredibly rewarding. The lakes close to my home are mainly deep gravel pits, but sometimes I enjoy fishing in urban settings as well. I visit large harbours and cities around my hometown.

Carp fishing brings me peace and tranquillity. It has become an addiction. Even after nearly 30 years, I still enjoy it just as much as I did on the first day.

When I was asked to join the Evolve Team, there was no doubt in my mind – I wanted to be part of it. I am extremely proud and excited to be a part of the Evolve family.
