Fishing has always run in the blood. Both grandads, my Dad and uncle have always been avid anglers. My angling journey began fishing for roach and chub as a lad on my local rivers. This inevitably progressed on to carp fishing. I’ll never forget the first time I caught a carp, who doesn’t? Freelined breadcrust next to lily pads, that was where it all began. The power, looks and beauty of these fish lead me to become obsessed fishing for these amazing creatures. I have been lucky enough to fish in the Lee Valley, Cambridgeshire, Kent, Essex, the Colne Valley and Bedfordshire. All have special memories and I try to revisit some of these waters where possible. Fishing in Europe has also become a large part of my fishing adventures for over 30 years. I am lucky enough to fish overseas around five times per year, and still enjoy the build-up and adventure just as much as I did all those years ago.

I have worked in the fishing tackle industry for a long time, making many special friends along the way. Most of my angling these days is based upon one-night sessions, I find it hard to juggle a family and other hobbies, so short sessions have become the norm for me, but find this style of angling has become my strength.
