Callum Regan

From a young age, I was captivated by the aquatic world — completely in awe whenever I stepped into the local aquatic centre. It was there that my passion for angling first began. My dad introduced me to fishing, but it didn’t take long before I was heading out on my own, cycling miles to local rivers and ponds with a whip in hand and half a pint of maggots, catching tiddlers and loving every moment.

For me, angling quickly became more than just a hobby — it became a lifestyle and, eventually, a career. After leaving school, I studied fishery management, earning a First Class BSc in ‘Aquaculture and Fishery Management’. Since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to be involved in the management of some of the UK’s top fisheries.

Over the years, I’ve travelled all over the country, fishing waters from Devon to Cambridge and everywhere in between. Most recently, I’ve found myself back in my home county of Essex, where I continue to pursue the challenges that keep me hooked.

I love a challenge — it’s never just about size or numbers for me. Targeting special old carp and embracing the adventure along the way is what it’s all about… and landing a few stunning carp along the journey certainly doesn’t go unnoticed.
