About Arno van Edgmond
I live in the western part of the Netherlands. Fishing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child, I spent countless hours by the water with my father and grandfather, and at the age of 15 I discovered carp fishing.
After buying my first carp rod, I joined some friends for my first overnight session. We didn’t catch anything, but the anglers next to us landed an 18lb common carp. The moment I saw that fish, I was hooked, and my passion for carp fishing was born.
Today, most of my fishing takes place on canals and large sand excavation in the Netherlands, although I regularly fish in Belgium and France as well. I enjoy the challenge of public waters and especially like exploring new venues with no prior knowledge, figuring everything out from scratch.
Fishing is also something I share with my family. Whenever possible, my tackle comes along on family holidays, and I am fortunate that my sons enjoy fishing almost as much as I do.
For me, fishing is about far more than catching fish. It is a way to escape the demands of everyday life, reconnect with nature, and enjoy the peace, freedom, and adventure that every session brings.
