Weight Clip System – Leader
Step 1
Splice the weight clip onto your chosen leader from the side.
Step 2
Your leader must exit from the same side as the slot (as shown).
Step 3
There are two ways to pass your leader through the weight clip:
- Pass a gated needle through the rear of the weight clip, then attach the leader loop and close the gate (as shown)
- Push your leader through the slot at the rear first, then the side (see the ‘Tubing/Naked’ guide for more detailed information)
Tip: If passing the leader through the slot, push the thinner upper section of the leader above the (double thickness) spliced section through to make it easier.
Step 4
Now start to pull your leader through the weight clip. Pull tight and allow the leader to pull into the weight clips central bore.
Tip: Place a thumb/finger over the leader in the side slot as you pull, to ensure it cannot come out.
Step 5
Once pulled tight, the leader will finish centrally in the clip, with all connections hidden and leaving no external obstructions.
Step 6
Add your chosen “+” or “-“ tail rubber.
Step 7
Attach your chosen weight, moisten and fit your tail rubber (align the tail rubber so the recess and logo in the tail rubber are on the underside facing your weight/lead).
Attach your chosen rig and you are ready to fish!
